GemAU: Gemstar Auto-Update Aargh! I got so tired of not knowing what show was recorded because I had forgotten to update the TV listings! I'd open up my media library, and I'd have entries like "KREM (Jan 2)", "KAYU (Mar 13)", etc. GemAU allows you to update your GemStar TV listings by double-clicking its icon, or even schedule the updating to occur automatically! Just like manually running the update feature, this script requires you to be logged on in order for it to run. But that's really a non-issue, as you need to be logged on in order to record your TV shows anyway!

Easily update your TV listings by double-clicking the GemAU icon. Or schedule it to run automatically! GemAU runs a script that mimics the manual steps to update your TV listings, so you must be logged onto the computer to run it. That's typically a non-issue, since your computer is always logged on in order to record your TV shows anyway! To schedule GemAU, you just open your Scheduled Tasks folder, and create a shortcut to the GemAU.exe file. You must use a user account on your computer that is a member of the local Administrators group or has the "Log on as a service" rights. How to set this is explained in the installation instructions.
